A recent Bloomberg report stated that Nintendo’s new OLED model of the Switch had upgrades that cost the company about $ 10 per unit, although the price of the upgraded model is $ 50 more than its predecessor . The company then continues by stating that the OLED SWITCH model will be launched in October 2021 and does not intend to publish another model at the time of writing.
Nintendo is usually quite silent about rumors like this, which makes it interesting that it has chosen to deal directly with one but two rumors that Bloomberg reports have addressed. In normal circumstances, the company would have made any comments or said something that it had no plan for the moment.
Instead, Nintendo has chosen to directly refute the Bloomberg affirmation that the company has increased its beneficiary margins with the OLED SWITCH model. And then he threw a general denial that a Switch pro was going out soon to do good.
It is possible that the unusual franchise of Nintendo is due to the frustration aroused by the way people simply let not die the rumor of Switch Pro. In this case, however, why focus on Bloomberg’s claims regarding the profit margin? Bloomberg’s statements were based on the comments of some industry analysts, so it is interesting that Nintendo denied the statements without really sharing any relevant information.
